Western Photo Booth Experience

Western Photo Booth Experience

Our clients kept asking us for a Western-themed photo booth experience. What better way to celebrate Utah’s history than to transport your guests back to the late 1800’s! In typical Couth Booth fashion, we grabbed the bull by the horns and put together the rootinest-tootinest cowboy prop collection this side of the Mississippi! We tried to recreate those old-timey amusement park photos (think of your family trips to Pioneer Village), but in a way that didn’t require bringing an entire Western saloon with us. We can even created Wanted Posters for your guests, or bring a green screen that allows for all kinds of Western backdrops. We searched long and hard, and put together some amazing props and costume items. The Western prop collection includes cowboy hats, spurs, a lasso, a replica rile, several replica pistols, gun belts with holsters, vests, a parasol, a whiskey jug, and much more. We even made our own signs that have cheesy cowboy sayings on them. We made them from wood, wrapped them in rope, and burned the heck out of them. Usually we get requests for Western photo booths in Park City, considering its history as a mining town. But all of Utah has a rich history full of pioneer and cowboy culture. Pairing our Western props with our Vintage Booth creates an unforgettable experience for your next corporate event, party, or Western wedding. Contact us to get pricing for your event, and don’t forget to ask about the Western Experience upgrade....

Halloween Season is Here!

Halloween Season is Here!

Halloween is our favorite holiday, so of course we can’t wait to be invited to work at a ton of parties this October! Last year, we were hired for several private parties, as well as corporate events. Halloween is the perfect time of year for green screen photography (also known as “chromakey”), since it’s possible to transport guests to all kinds of spooky places. We love doing normal photo booth photos, but I really like it when clients challenge our creativity! Green screen photography is probably my favorite thing we do because there are so many crazy effects that we can create. Last year, we got a call from ourfriend at Adobe who wanted to do something very unique for their employee Halloween party. Their theme was “Vampires vs Zombies” and he wanted us to give guests the option of choosing a side (or choosing both, if they wanted to use the booth twice). I got to work finding graphics and putting together two very different motifs for the green screen photos. For the Zombie option, we decided that it would be cool to transport the guests to a creepy gave yard and make it look like zombies were coming to life all around them. It took some searching and a lot of photo shop work, but the end result was pretty cool.  For the Vampires, we wanted to do something totally different. I thought it would be cool to create a vintage horror movie poster and make the guests the star of it. There are a lot of challenges when creating a scene like this, you have to account for people of different heights, for large and small groups, and I wanted it to look as real as possible. The end result was pretty cool! Since the guests could see a preview on the screen, it was fun for them to react to the coffin or the virtual surroundings.People had a great time in the booth, and they loved being able to get a printed photo and a digital version (via our iPad kiosk). We were lucky enough to be part of another Halloween party at a spooky old mansion on South Temple. Our Vintage Booth perfectly blended in with the ambiance of this turn of the century structure. This was also a green screen event, and we allowed guests to pick from three different digital backdrops. Here’s an example of what the setup looked like, and the photo that it produced: We’ve already been booked for a few October events, so call or email us right away if you’re interested in creating a unique experience at your Halloween...

Another successful wedding season!

Another successful wedding season!

Summer is about over, and Heather and I couldn’t be happier! Don’t get me wrong, this was our biggest summer to date and we’re grateful for the success of our photo booth business. But we’re also thankful to be able to breath again! We did nearly 50 weddings, events, and parties between June and August, and we built an all new open style photo booth. Somehow, we also found time to celebrate Heather’s birthday in Vegas, take the kids on a trip, and take part in a photo shoot in Northern Idaho. Needless to say, it’s nice to finally have a calm month so we can relax and little (and finally update our blog). This summer we were all over the place: We were at the Salt Palace a few times for conventions, we went to Deer Valley, Morgan, Kamas, and even Sun Valley, Idaho. But I think our craziest location was when we transported our Vintage Photo Booth in a gondola to the top of  Snow Basin for a beautiful wedding. And just when I thought we had seen every single venue along the Wasatch Front, we discovered a few new ones that we had never been to: Sleepy Ridge golf course in Orem, the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, and Alta Ski Resort. In addition to weddings and parties, we did a ton of corporate events. We were part of Bush’s Baked Beans for the School Nutrition convention, AT&T had us at their booth for several days during the LULAC convention, we even brought both of our Retro Booths to Morinda’s headquarters in Provo for their annual employee carnival. We also got to put our booth on the plaza outside the Energy Solutions Arena for USANA’s annual conference. As hard as we try, we couldn’t do it alone! We’re very grateful for the wonderful vendors who make this business so fun. We just updated our Favorite Vendors page, so if you’re on there it’s because we love working with you and you do amazing work! We also would like to thank all of our great clients. We often get asked if we have to deal with many “Bridezillas”, but honestly, 99% of our clients are a joy to work with. Very seldom do people have complaints, and most brides are gracious and appreciative. Other than the fact that we have to work nights, holidays, and weekends, we have the best job in the world. We get to share peoples’ biggest days with them, and we’re honored to be part of them. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this our most successful summer yet!...

Award Winning Photo Booth at Outdoor Retailers

We were fortunate to be hired by Sierra Designs during the 2015 Winter Outdoor Retailers convention. They were featuring their duo sleeping bag, and they created a display that made it look like people were laying in it while they got their photos taken. It was a huge hit, over 2000 photos were taken over the course of three days. As a result of their creative photo booth experience, they were recognized as having the “Best Interactive Booth” at the...

Hope & Healing Fundraiser

This past weekend, we had the honor of being a sponsor of the Rape Recovery Center’s Hope and Healing Gala. The gala is the RRC’s primary fundraiser, and it was an amazing event! Thanks to the numerous donors, they were able to auction off everything from raffle tickets, to gift baskets, to fine art. The photo booth was a huge hit, and 100% of the proceeds generated went to the cause. The RRC’s mission is to “empower those victimized by sexual violence through advocacy, crisis intervention, and therapy and to educate the community about the cause, impact, and prevention of sexual violence”. They provide vital services to the victims of sexual violence, including a 24 hour crisis hotline that victims can call for counseling and help. We were thrilled that our services were able to raise funds for such a worthy cause. If you didn’t make it to the gala, donations can be made by visiting the RRC’s website....

Steampunk Photo Booth Event

Steampunk Photo Booth Event

When we were hired by Weber State University to be part of their 125th anniversary celebration, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Considering the fact that they booked all three of our booths, we figured that it would be a grand affair but it wasn’t until we saw the venue that we realized how grand it really was! The event was held at the Eccles Event Center in downtown Ogden and the theme was Steampunk (which is a genre of science fiction which blends Victorian era fashion with industrial era technology). The entire ballroom was decorated with huge displays of gears, gadgets, and gizmos, and suspended from the ceiling were zeppelins and other fantastical steam driven fictional creations. No detail was overlooked, even the meals were inspired by the steampunk theme. In addition to bringing our three photo booths, we were also given the task of creating Steampunk costumes for both men and women that could be easily slipped on over clothing, with minimal fuss. Our motto is “Anything worth doing, is worth OVERdoing” so of course, we went all out on these costumes. We raided antique stores, vintage clothing stores, several Deseret Industry locations, and the entire internet to find all of the parts and pieces necessary to create six incredible Steampunk costumes. Every element of the costumes were stitched together so that they became just one single garment that guests could slip into from the back (like a strait jacket). Although the costumes were a hit, we were amazed at how many guests came in their own amazing costumes. By the end of the night, we had taken hundreds of photos with our photo booths and nearly every one of the 750 guests was able to take a souvenir home with them. Thank you Weber State for allowing us to be part of your imaginative and historic...
